Last Push for Education
Challenge Points
All documentation must be postmarked by June 28th
to qualify for this year’s Education Challenge. That means you have time to
whip out some quick points and surprise everyone. It’s not too late to take the
BIG PRIZES. We’ve added 3 methods to bump up your points, plus you can help us
make a VERY Important decision. See #3 below.
Point Bump One:
There are a couple of samples that will improve this
upcoming Loaner Program Season, and we are willing to give points to acquire
them. About 25% of those that returned the SESP Digitizing Software said that
they never attempted the Self-Directed Lesson Plans that we supplied. To
encourage next year’s participants to “not do the same”, we thought that it
would be helpful if we had more than just a picture of the projects. SO, for
those of you that have Floriani’s SESP Software, we will award 132 points per
Self-Directed Project sample that we receive before the Education Challenge
Deadline. If you have the SESP Software but weren’t on the Loaner Program, you
can still send in project samples. Send me an email to let me know that you
need the Self Directed Project Instructions and I’ll send them back to you by
email or DropBox link (they might be too big for emails). Remember, deadlines
still apply and neatness counts, but you are welcome to make the towel design
on a washcloth so that it will be smaller. –Must be completed using the SESP
Software because that’s the software on next year’s program and it needs to
match up to be of value to the incoming group.
Point Bump 2
Here’s another way to up your points:
Be our guest blogger. Write an article about your classroom
sewing and/or embroidery experience this past year. Email it to schools@bsewinn.com Please put Edu
Challenge Blog Entry in the subject line. We’ll award you 64 points and publish
as many as we can. Please note, we reserve the right to award the points but
not publish your article also. Limit one blog entry per Education Challenge
participant.
Point Bump 3
And a third way to add to your total Education Challenge
Point for this year’s contest:
Vote on the following question: (19 points—you can only vote
once).
Question to Vote On:
Instead of a Student Scholarship for College, would it be
more helpful if we offered a $500 FCCLA National Convention Expense Award to
help pay for one school in OK, one in MO and one in AR to attend the annual
FCCLA National Convention? Vote Yes or Vote No.
Where to Vote:
If you are in our Education Division Email Database, you will have received this information by email and you can vote directly from the email. The Vote Buttons will be located on your email tool bar (if you use Outlook). Click
the down triangle for the choices to select from. When I reviewed the email with my iphone the Vote
Buttons was not visible. Most likely, they are also not visible on ipads either. If you
can’t see or find the VOTE BUTTONS in the email OR you can't get to your school emails right now, then list your preference in the Subject
Line of a Reply Email. That will get it counted with the ones that are
automatically tabulated from the VOTE BUTTONS.
Thanks,

I'd vote $250 for the scholarship and $250 for National Meeting. Both are important and need funding.
